As the holiday season arrives and another year draws to a close, Becca and I have been reflecting on this past season at the lodge. Lake St. Joseph is an incredible fishery, and the lodge itself sits on remarkable grounds, but anyone who’s spent time here knows that’s only part of the story.
What makes Old Post truly special has always been its people. Early mornings shared with a hot coffee and a good friend, laughter on the beach at the end of the day, quiet moments on the water, the utter glee and exhilaration when you set the hook into a big lunker. These are the moments that stay with you long after the season ends.
We want to take a moment to sincerely thank our staff for an outstanding year. Their dedication, good humour and care for Old Post and its people, create the backdrop for where people can come to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy meaningful time together. A heartfelt thank you to Marian, Ella, Viny (Minus), Denver, Chuck, Levi, Jacob, and Ben — Old Post wouldn’t be what it is without you.
Looking ahead to the season to come, we are excited to share that we’ll be upgrading our entire fleet with brand-new Suzuki outboards. It’s an investment in reliability, performance, and peace of mind, ensuring your time on the water is spent focused on what matters most.
If you have had an amazing experience with us, we would truly appreciate it if you’d consider leaving a Google review. It makes a real difference for a small, family-run lodge like ours and helps future guests find their way north to The Old Post.

Last but most certainly not least, I want to make a point of extending my gratitude to all of you for being part of the Old Post story. Wendy, Becca, Finn and I wish you all a warm, healthy and wonderful Christmas holiday.
