The 2026 Season Has Begun @oldpost

After one of the latest ice-outs we’ve ever seen at Old Post Lodge, the 2026 season is officially underway — and it sure feels good to have the boats back on the water.

Every spring in the North reminds us that nature runs the schedule up here. While Winter held on longer than usual this year, our crew worked hard to get everything ready the moment the lake opened, and our first guests of the season are already enjoying exactly what makes this place so special.

The fishing has started strong, the scenery is as wild and beautiful as ever, and most importantly, guests are once again making memories with family and friends in the middle of Ontario’s true North.

There’s something special about those first few weeks after ice-out. Lake St. Joseph comes alive, the wildlife returns, and after a long Northern winter, everyone appreciates being here just a little bit more.

We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who continues to make Old Post Lodge part of their traditions year after year.

For those still hoping to make it north in 2026, we do have some limited availability remaining later this summer. If you’ve been thinking about making the trip, now’s the time to reach out before the calendar fills completely.

Looking forward to seeing many of you back at Old Post this season.

Your friend

-Jon
