It's hard to believe we're already into the heart of another season at Old Post Lodge.
Like many of you, we watched spring arrive a little later than expected. This year brought one of the latest ice-outs we've experienced in forty years, and the weather has continued to keep us guessing ever since. That's life in the North. Every season writes its own story, and no two years are ever the same.
Despite the unusual conditions, Lake St. Joseph has reminded us once again why it's one of the finest fisheries anywhere. The walleye have been plentiful, the northern pike have been exceptional, and we've welcomed countless smiling faces back to camp after unforgettable days on the water. Watching guests reconnect with old friends, introduce children and grandchildren to the North, and create new memories has been as rewarding as ever.
Many of you have reached out to ask about the wildfire situation in Northwestern Ontario, and we're incredibly grateful for your concern.
We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Ranger crews and everyone involved in protecting our forests and communities. Their professionalism, dedication, and countless hours of hard work help ensure that this incredible region remains safe for residents, visitors, and future generations alike. We are deeply appreciative of everything they do.
As we celebrate Old Post Lodge's 40th anniversary, we're reminded that places like this endure because of the people who return year after year. Your support, friendship, and trust in our family mean more than we can put into words. Thank you for making Old Post such a special place.
If you've been thinking about your next trip north, now is a great time to reserve your week.
Book your 2027 stay by August 31 and we'll honour our 2026 pricing. It's our way of saying thank you for planning ahead and for continuing to make Old Post Lodge part of your family's traditions.
We still have plenty of season left, and we look forward to welcoming many more guests over the coming weeks. Until then, thank you for being part of the Old Post family.
