Whether you're looking for an expedition down the lake in search of monster pike, or if you just want to learn the local hot spots and enjoy a relaxing shore lunch, our friendly and knowledgeable guides will plan the day in accordance with the expectations and wishes of your group. A typical guided day begins with departure from the Old Post at approximately 8:00 am after discussing your fishing strategy for the day with your guide. Once your destination has been determined, you will begin your journey down pristine Lake St. Joseph. Upon arrival, your guide will gather the group and explain the area that you will be fishing, as well as answer any questions that your group may have. By the time the Northern fresh air has peaked your appetite and the fish have worn out your arms, there is no doubt that you will have caught plenty of walleye for your guide to prepare for shore lunch. Your guide will choose an unspoiled location where you can take a rest and enjoy a hearty, home-cooked meal expertly prepared over an open wood fire. Although your shore lunch menu will vary from day-to-day, a typical example would be as follows: Wild Rice Stir-Fry

  • locally harvested wild-rice with sautéed mushrooms and onions, stir-fried with soya sauce and spices
Freshly caught, deep-fried walleye
  • fresh walleye filets battered in flour, cornflake crumbs and spices, deep-fried in vegetable oil until golden brown
or

Freshly caught, poached walleye

  • fresh walleye filets poached over a bed of sautéed mushrooms and onions seasoned with our unique blend of spices
Baked Beans
  • need we say more?
Once your hunger is satisfied and the group is ready to carry on, we will return to the water for an afternoon planned around your expectations before returning to camp in time for dinner.
